My DD attended the USNA STEM camp this summer and absolutely loved it. It provided her with an introduction to the Naval Academy while allowing her to engage in STEM activities with like minded well rounded students. As we look forward to next summer, she has expressed an interest in attending a similar type camp for USAFA.

I have read on this forum that one option would be to attend the SAME camp at USAFA. However, it was just mentioned to me that there is another opportunity known as Legacy that is also held at USAFA. The person that mentioned this didn't have much information on Legacy.

I'm hoping someone reading this may have knowledge of the pros and cons of the two potential options and provide some insight. My DD will be 15 next summer and headed into her Sophomore year of high school.

I greatly appreciate any help.

My DS attended the USAFA SAME camp this summer as a rising junior. It was a great experience for him!

For the 2019 Summer USAFA SAME camp, there were 96 campers. For perspective, there were 15 rising sophomores, 54 rising juniors, 26 rising seniors, and one for which there was no designation provided. I do no know anything about the Legacy opportunity.

My oldest son will be a 15 yr old sophomore next year as well. I recently emailed USAFA in regards to STEM programs, and received this.20190812_190752.jpg
