Sad day for America today: Attack on our democratic process

They're traitors.
And I wouldn't call them Capitol ‘protestors’ either - they were "domestic terrorists" or "pro-Trump extremists", and what they were doing was ‘insurrection’. This was completely different from the left and right extremists' riots/protests of the summer. This group breached the Capitol, chased cops, fired guns, vandalized the building, and forced the evacuation of Congress with the intent of a coup. And photos like this are disturbing and show that the cops treated them a lot differently than other groups.

All of this is sad. I think the lesson here is how divided we have become as a nation. Extremists from both sides now drive the political discourse and a true Statesman is nowhere to be found.
But we have a moderate Dem coming in who has spent many years working with current legislators on both sides so he understands working the other side of the aisle. The problem will be this small minority of Trump supporters (seen today in DC) who will never accept the election results no matter what - no statesman would ever be able to win over this group.

I've never been a Trump supporter, but no matter what your political views are, we have to agree this is terrorism and a serious and disgusting attack on our country. President Trump needs to step up and go on national television and call this out for the terrorism it is. When BLM protesters protested, they were met with gunshots, tear gas and rubber bullets. However, our police in DC is taking pictures with these "protesters" and doing next to nothing? The Virginia national guard, even, was given the order before the DC national guard.

i wouldnt call this terrorism. This is violent protesting and un-American because its inteferes with the the rule of law and the Constitution. Just because its violent and you dont like it, doesnt make it terrorism. If everything is terrorism than nothing is terrorism

According to the FBI, the definition of terrorism is "Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives."

Gunshots were fired. A woman was shot. Violence was used against the police to intimidate our legislature to try to acknowledge voter fraud that there is no solid proof of. Sounds like terrorism to me.

I didn’t see the violence. I heard a woman got shot by the police. My son and I were asked to go - we decided against it.

I saw trespass for most of them.

I didn’t see weapons or violence. (Not saying there wasn’t, saying I haven’t seen it yet)

How times have changed:

Only two Vice Presidents have presided over their own defeat in a Presidential election, Richard Nixon and Al Gore, and both did so with dignity and grace. Nixon was presented with a Democratic and a Republican certification for Hawaii's electoral votes, both signed by the Governor. He rejected the Republican certification. Gore steadfastly refused Democratic efforts to contest the certification process in his election.

In spite of Gore's closing comment, “May God bless our new president and new vice president, and may God bless the United States of America,” a few members of Gore's party refused to follow his lead and made a spectacle which has created an escalating tit-for-tat on both sides of the aisle for the past twenty years.

This election represents the culmination of our leaders' desire to put party ahead of country - widespread Democratic violence before the election, and today's Republican disgrace at the Capitol. Neither would have happened with strong leadership by their respective sides, dedicated to country first.

I saw trespass for most of them.
"Trespass?"

The last time I went into the Capitol, I walked through a metal detector manned by the Capital Police, who are a a Federal Law Enforcement Agency. I think what happened is a little different than my kid climbing a fence to chase after a pheasant.

Willful blindness is not a good look against sedition
I honestly stopped watching after Trump speech. I haven’t seen it. I admitted it in my post.

No willful blindness. And sedition is a whole different topic that I will not discuss on this site.

I am fascinated to see how this all turns out.
