Can anyone tell me exactly what scores the CGA looks at?
All 4 areas of the ACT and do they superscore between the ACT and SAT?

They do super score both. Also our admissions rep said the average SAT score they're looking at is in the mid 600's for the math and reading. My DD just got her scores back today at she has a 1200. she was disappointed as she thought she did a lot better then the last one. Only 30 point improvement. and that was after going to kaplan for a month!

Yes, they do super score. My DS is happy they do, he took the SAT 3 times (Mar, Apr, and Oct). Now, he did good overall on each (1310, 1220, and 1320) but we're hoping with super scoring to a 1360 will be enough. There are a ton of great candidates. So, we just sit and wait. I wish every candidate the absolute best. It's an outstanding opportunity and achievement if you get appointed.

What do they do with the optional essay score? USCGA is asking for the essay too but no one ever talks about the score. My DD worked hard to improve that score and now, her new essay score seems pretty strong... although there's nothing to really compare it to. Frustrating... Sure hope they take it into consideration too.

I am not sure what USCGA will do with writing portion, but our counselor said that in her conversations with many colleges that they don't anticipate even looking at it this year because they don't fee the scores are "proven".
