Hello, DS is applying EA. I was wondering if anyone had insight about SAT/ACT super scores across the two exams. DS has take 2 of each already, and consistently scores very-very well in ELA and lower in math I see the conversion chart between the tests, and he's close to his goal score (but still working). He has 2 more exams for each between 10/28-12/9. Can he submit all tests for the CGA to super score? can EA app accept more than one exam, or does the other need to be supplemental to AO?

Thank you.

I know that USCGA superscores all the SAT scores. And they superscore the ACT scores. I don't recall if they convert one to the other and superscore between them. He could call his AO to ask. Your son can submit as many tests as he wants.

It sounds like your son is testing fairly well, but keep in mind that USCGA is test optional. So if applicants are strong academically but don't perform well on standardized tests, they can choose not to submit scores if they think the scores would hurt their application.

If your DS is applying EA, then his package should be the best he can submit at the deadline, which is October 15th. If he believes additional test scores will strengthen his application, then he should wait and submit RA (he should check with his AO). Per the admissions website, supplemental information is only accepted for 2 weeks after the application deadline, which would be October 29th.

I think the 2 weeks for supplemental is specifically for the teacher recommendations and PFE scores. I think applicants can continue to submit other items like new test scores, first quarter grades, or other achievements (like being selected captain of their team, etc...) until their application package is reviewed. My daughter definitely did. BUT, I agree that the dates for the tests (10/28 - 12/9) are likely too late to be considered for EA. Certainly any tests in December would be too late.

Thank you. His plan is to submit with two scores of each, then email AO as additional info comes in (capt hockey, mid quarter grades, and the additional sat/act scores). Best case they get reviewed before EA is determined, not bad case, they're there for RA, worst case he doesn't get picked up and goes to his other choice schools.

Just want to make sure your son understands that not everyone who does not get an offer during EA is deferred into Regular Admission. Some EA applicants are denied. So he definitely wants to make sure he has a strong application (and consider improving the SAT/ACT scores as a bonus) if he plans to apply EA.

His newest score (superscore) was great! We're all very happy with it and cancelling the December testing, but keeping the Oct to just see if one more section can eek out one or two more points.

what do all the abbreviations mean?

DS = Dear Son
EA - Early Action
RA - Regular Action
