Appointments are complicated, dynamic and many factors considered (essays, interview, teacher evaluations, high school standing, etc.). Each year many very qualified candidates do not get Appointed. That's why having a good Plan B and C is so important.

No worries - Just out of curiosity, Will you apply again? Also, how do you like ROTC at a top-tier university?

I will not apply to the academy, the deal I was offered from AFROTC is far better, besides winning a Type-1 scholarship, they offered a 5-year contract to me, so when I graduate/commission, I will have a Masters in Mech/Aero in hand, something a USAFA grad will not have. It all boils down to what you want, full military college experience or hybrid military college experience.
