Did anyone notice that USAFA changed the way they are reporting the SAT scores in the portal? They were reporting the highest subtest scores (giving my DS a 20 point boost). Now they are showing only the Math and EBRW scores. Not too big of a deal, but I thought the change was interesting.

I noticed that also. I wonder if they did that because people were confused about the way the scores were converted.

My DS only took it once, but it used to show the raw score and now it has the converted score on there. I can't remember anything, so I will make it up. It used to say EBRW: 59 and now it says 710.

Yes, they used to post the highest of a each subscore. This would boost most scores over the way the other academies scored them. I will try and give an example.....

John Doe test one:

Math:700
EBWR:660
Total: 1360

Subscores
Reading:32
Writing and language:34
Math:35

John Doe test two:

Math:720
EBWR:650
Total: 1370

Subscores
Reading:35
Writing and language:30
Math:36

The Math and EBWR superscore would be 1380

The way that USAFA was scoring the best subscores, would give a superscore of 1410, a 30 point increase. This is because they would use the highest score from the Reading:35 Writing and Language:34 and Math: 36 over multiple tests.

Got it. DS only took it once. I was saying that do not see the raw score, when I used to. That is all, no big deal.

Sorry, I didn't mean to dump a bunch of info in reply to your post. I was honestly just posting that to explain on this thread the change I was talking about.

My ds's changed as well but only lowered his score by 10 pts. This change might reflect the digital SAT which does not include subtest scores. The last paper SAT was in December.

Good point.
