scars

DS has scars on the top of his forearm from falling into a Hawthorn bush a number of years ago. If you've never seen the thorns on one, they are very scary! Anyway, DODMERB is requesting a statement about the cause of the scars, etc. I'm sure they are rightfully concerned about people with self-inflicted wounds, but unless clumsiness can be considered self-inflicted, this isn't that. There was no guidance given about the statement and am wondering if anyone else has had to write something like this - anything he should be sure to say by way of explanation?

If he went to doctor, ER, or urgent care for treatment, request those records to send along. If he did not, just explain simply, clearly what happened.
