I've never contacted anybody at the USCGA (?). 100% of the communication has been her. She isn't on this forum, that's why I'm asking here.Your DD, not parents, should contact Shannon in Admissions![]()
Good to know. Thanksretiredradar - Not exactly. The Services...in this case, USCGA, do NOT pay for DoDMERB exams. They also don't have "direct" visibility on what other SAs have been applied to by any applicant![]()
I would contact DoDMERB. Or contact user MulleLE- he has a post above in this thread and knowledgeable of everything DoDMERB.My DS was just offered April 1st conditional. Submitted his application right at the deadline - but he was never contacted about his DoDMERB - now we are trying to figure out how to get it done - and it's Saturday the 2nd! Any advise?
Often that first email goes to SPAM. It is possible your son missed it. He should check his SPAM folder although it may have aged out by now.My DS was just offered April 1st conditional. The tricky part is that DODMERB won't evaluate her file until both tests are done. So if she is DQ'd for anything or needs a remedial, there isn't much time left. It is odd that they won't let her change vision providers. What if you offer to pay for the vision test yourself (since it would not be the doctor they selected)? You might also ask in the DODMERB forum and Larry Mullen might respond and might be able to help out.My DD just set up her DoDMERB appointments yesterday, as she was offered a conditional appointment on 4/1. Medical is on 4/11 but the earliest her vision could be scheduled was 5/5. Her AO said to just worry about the medical exam but Shannon told her to try to get an earlier vision appointment. Unfortunately CIV won't approve her request to change vision providers so she's stuck with that 5/5 date. Is she ok as long as she attends the appointments before the 5/15 deadline or is she at risk for losing her appointment?
CIV stated that since the provider they listed is closest to her zip code they can’t change it. They did, however, let her know that she can try different zip codes to see if there are providers that she can see elsewhere (which would be further away from us). We have an appointment with her ophthalmologist scheduled for this Friday but they’re obviously not an approved provider. It’s really frustrating that the options seem so minimal. I told her to reach out to Larry Mullen to get his thoughts. The tricky part is that DODMERB won't evaluate her file until both tests are done. I believe that would be true. My daughter's DodMERB was initiated when meeting the threshold of requirements on her USMMA app. Then, a week or 2 later, as soon as she submitted her CGA app, the USCGA was listed in her DodMERB portal as well.So is it true that CGA will not schedule DODMERB until the complete application is received? Or is there a threshold of info that triggers DODMERB? USMMA tells me they need SAT scores and transcripts and that initiates DODMERB.
