Lighten up, Francis
It’s not really hypothetical because I was, at one point, considering walking out. Once I decided to play it safe and not risk my appointment in any way, I thought it was still important to discuss as plenty of plebes to be are likely facing this decision as well. I was aware it would be general advice which is perfectly fine because the advice has reached varieties of situations that have related to others. Also, the people at my school at least aren’t planning on leaving school property. Just going to the flag pole in honor of lives lost, etc.I am not participating but......
When you ask us to speculate on hypothetical situations, you are going to get a lot random input that may have no direct relation to what your particular school is doing. If the activity is only for 17 minutes (based on some other post), then I doubt there would even be time to leave school property.

Maybe contact the Admissions Office and find out? I know that the Admission Office is probably very busy with applications for the Class of 2022 and NASS, but it can't hurt to contact the office and receive a definite answer.Does participating in a school walkout affect someone’s appointment? Please leave out personal political opinions
Edit: I am not participating but I think it is an important topic to address
I know that this is going to sound overtly political, and you probably won't like it, but you should know that this march is simply a way that wealthy leftists (READ: Oprah and Clooney) are exploiting yet another tragedy to push back on our 2nd amendment rights. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you aren't one of these people and think that it is in good form to honor the victims of a tragedy, and if that is the case, then good for you.
However, when people manipulate such tragedies to push their own political agenda so that they can stomp on the Constitution and pull the heartstrings of idealistic, naive, and leftist youth, then I take issue with this.
Just my two cents.

"supid"? I think you meant "stupid" - but I also think that's uncalled for - and he suggested nothing of the sort.
This is why there are rules against political discussion here.
Actually, the framers recognized the individual right. Start with the Federalist Papers and go from there. Publius has some thoughts on this.I know that this is going to sound overtly political, and you probably won't like it, but you should know that this march is simply a way that wealthy leftists (READ: Oprah and Clooney) are exploiting yet another tragedy to push back on our 2nd amendment rights. Or you can realise that the constitution is not clear and the individual right to bear arms was not recognized until 2009. And since then every assault weapons ban that has been challenged has been upheld as constitutional.
It is supid to suggest that someone is violating their oath by supporting gun control.
Most of which are already in place. I just listened to Zero Hour recounting the last hour before Columbine. At no point did Clebold and Harris stop to think about any of the 19 gun laws they were going to violate. When you intend to kill children, no gun law will stop you."supid"? He clearly did, and it is a stupid exertion to make. Students are protesting for common sense measures that any 1st world country should implement.

Yeah. I just decided it’s easiest to not walk out. I have opinions on it for sure but it’s an issue I’m not majorly educated on and therefore not passionate about enough to contact admissions.Maybe contact the Admissions Office and find out? P.S I respect the opinions of all those that have posted on this thread, but I feel that this can be resolved through a quick email to Admissions.

"exertion"? It requires exertion to make it through these lame expositions on constitutional law. From both sides.
I think you mean "assertion". And stop using the word "stupid", even if you spell it right.
You aren't helping the case of those of us who don't take a maximalist interpretation on the 2nd Amendment.
