Keep the faith!!!Round three for me, still nada
My thoughts exactly. DS said somebody in his dorm has received an appointment already, so he is on edge. It is much easier this year though, as was the application and interview process. Good luck to your DS. Hopefully all these second and third timers will get good news soon.My DS is a second time applicant. It is a little easier this time because he is at the university. Last year was so hard.
interesting. I would have thought that showing commitment to becoming a naval officer would be very importantHe is not. His BGO told him it didn't matter one way or the other, but to make good grades and be involved in outside activities.
Not sure how much weight this carries but when DS interviewed with his MOC's panel they recommended that he also apply for ROTC because it 'shows he's serious about serving'. Can't hurt, unless of course it effects your GPA.Coming from a college programmer myself, I sure hope being in NROTC helps... It takes up a lot of time! Due to PT and Naval Science classes there are multiple days each week us NROTC mids have to get up at 5 AM when we could have awoken at 10 AM without NROTC. Add this lost sleep, added classes and more responsibilities life without NROTC would be MUCH easier (not to mention MUCH easier to obtain a better GPA). All that being said, NROTC is great and even if it doesn't help with my USNA application I still would of joined!
Looks like it was worth the wait! Just saw your DS on the appointment thread. Congratulations! My DS is a second time applicant. It is a little easier this time because he is at the university. Last year was so hard.
