I have been notified by USAFA that they have requested a waiver for me. I believed I would not need to send in additional AMI as I have already sent many records months ago. This was good enough for West Point to grant me a waiver for this same condition in one week. They are telling me, however, that they want complete medical records from my doctor’s office and not chart summaries. I have been using MyChart to send all my records to DoDMERB and believed that this would be sufficient. I am curious as to why USAFA requires me to do this when West Point deemed it sufficient. I know each service grants waivers independently; I just never knew it also changed how they request information. My doctor’s office told me to release my medical records it will require HIPAA and could take up to 30 days. To send them this way when I already have the results on MyChart and have had them there for months, I just hope there is a way to avoid this.

Actually, NO. Each academy has their own waiver authority and USAFA...in your case...wants complete medical records from my doctor’s office and not chart summaries. Posting here versus responding to Ms B, who sent you that clarification, is puzzling. there is NO one on this forums, to include me, were privy to the discussions between you and she and would have no further insight.:wiggle:

Got it Mr.Mullen! My apologies and I'll get the process started for those complete medical records. I should've been aware that each waiver authority can change the AMI process as each service as different needs.
