Seventh Semester Grades

Do USAFA and USNA expressly make a request for your Seventh Semester transcripts? We know USMA has a way by which you can have USMA request them from the guidance counselor, but do not see such a mechanism for USAFA and USNA. Thank you.

What would be an exception to the "usually does not request"? When/why would seventh semester grades be requested?

Here's why I ask. I met with our medical sciences academy counselor, career services specialist, and administrator yesterday about my Biotechnology students who are failing a mentorship course. It's pass/fail and all they have to do is keep up with requirements such as the most important one, meet with their mentor. These students are high flyers and have been admitted to or are waiting to hear from the Ivy's, Hopkins, UVA, etc. and their mentors are from Hopkins, NIH, etc.

They have until today, which is a snow day, to drop the course and not have it show up on their transcripts or until next Friday to fulfill the requirements. We sent them (just three students) talking points and an email, parents included, to tell them this and I've heard back from one. The importance of getting a simple PASS in the grade book for this, their seventh semester, is because a FAIL will flag their admission status or application decision process. This according to the counselor.

I asked Team Blue this question earlier this month and they told me that they will request a seventh semester transcript once you get an appointment.

I can't speak to this year, but last year and 3 years ago, they did, but I don't remember if they expressly asked for them, or it was part of the package. They both had early appointments

You can always update with your Team any changes, awards, leadership, an exceptional 7th semester etc.

USAFA does not request them but you can certainly ask for it to be added into consideration into your file. I emailed Team Blue and they gladly took in my 7th semester transcript.

Did you just send through your school's system or is there a link to upload directly for the school counselor?

In their email reply to me they just had my counselor email them my transcript.

I don't know if they do, but I try to send it if it significantly improves your cumulative GPA. They will want your high school transcript at some point to ensure you actually graduated!
