Hello,

I just had some questions regarding this part of the DODMERB. I answered that I have a Shellfish allergy, but I have never had it diagnosed by a medical professional and the only symptoms are nausea. I have never used an EPI-Pen or anything like that.

Is this disqualifying?

Thanks and have a good day.

There are 4 food groups that are specifically DQ per DODI: fish, shellfish, peanuts, and tree nuts.

Unfortunately whether or not you have an actual shellfish allergy at this point doesn’t really matter. That can of worms is open and you will have to deal with it. It won’t be up to you to convince them with statements. You can search around the forums to see how others dealt with this and their outcomes.

It’s why it’s preached to not self diagnose. Liver makes me nauseous but I’m certain I don’t have an allergy to it. But rather an aversion. Big difference. Im not saying you DONT have an actual allergy....I’m not medically qualified to opine. And THATS the point. No one is except a doctor. And sometimes even a second doctor/specialist.

Good luck to you!
