Sick for I-Day

Howdy, I am an incoming plebe excited for I-day but I have fallen sick to the point of struggling to stand. Does anyone have any information on whether the academy can still accept me for plebe summer as I am?

Any response is greatly appreciated!
 
No one here will know the answer for you. But they have a plan for every situation. So follow your instructions. Did they provide a phone number or contact in your paperwork?

And certainly, your health is most important. Take care of yourself, head to the ER if needed. The rest will fall into place as needed. No need to answer, but do you have a fever? Covid symptoms? Could it be ‘nerves’??

Adding: according to your prior posts, you are headed to Iday alone. Hopefully you have someone with you?

Thank-you for responding so quickly! I will have one person drop me off and that’s it. I have not been able to reach anyone at the academy nor have I found any instructions in my paperwork or online relating to my situation.

As for my symptoms I have had a fever Today, constant cold sweats, aching (especially in my back), easily become dizzy just from standing, sore throat, I am certain it not nerves because the person who is supposed to drop me off has also gotten pretty sick. Thank you again for responding so late! You have helped put my mind at ease!

did you test yourself for Covid?

When are you supposed to report? Tomorrow morning maybe?

I think you should wear a mask if you are feeling strong enough?

I am thinking that you can be placed in isolation to recover?

“Statistically” … they are probably expecting several incoming plebes will test positive for Flu or Covid … and have contingency plans to deal with them.

Wash your hands a lot and don’t touch anything.

praying for you!!! I would call the academy in the morning - see what they say!! hopefully they will just put you in isolation.
 
I came down with COVID on Sunday and am not reporting today because of it (i am reporting on the 8th due to plane travel restrictions for people who recently had Covid). As it’s already I-day it’s probably too late to help you but if you have not reported yet there is contact information for the person you should talk to at the bottom of an email you received about Covid immunization status. Talk with her and she will help you out.

Our new report time will be 7/8 , 8 am. due to Covid.
