I am familiar with Summer Seminar at USNA

Does anyone know if the Marine Corps still offer the SLCDA?

If not are their any new leadership programs offered for Sophomore's or Junior's in High Schoo?

We looked for this for this past summer and didn’t see it offered. Perhaps others have more info. One of my older guys did this back in summer of ‘18.

Lots of older threads about various leadership programs you can attend. Attending a seminar where various individuals TALK about their experiences and/or make motivational speeches is NOT what the SA's typically consider 'leadership'. While there is nothing wrong with attending these programs, they won't add anything to your SA application.

Added benefit is that scholarships are available, requiring the applicant to write an essay asking for the money and explaining why he/she wants to pursue a military career. It is good practice for the future.

Also, the camps are run by retired enlisted guys who make no secret of their feelings about officers. Our DS returned home from the Navy camp and announced his intention to enlist after high school, because "officers don't do anything but sit at a desk." Again, good practice for earning respect of subordinates. He didn't enlist after all.

Can't recommend it enough.
