SLE Acceptance

Does anyone know where it says the date that paperwork needs to be received by? Is there a set date or do I just need to make sure it's there before June?

On your candidate portal, there should be a letter saying "SLE OFFER" and it should give you a due date on when to hand in all the paperwork. On mine it said it was due April 10th but that may not be the same date as yours (I heard other people had their due date as March 10)

Has anyone else got an error message when trying to fill out the Travel Information and Shirt Size form? I tried several times last night and again just now. I sent an e-mail to the address listed at the bottom of the page, but have yet to receive a response. Just wondering if I am the only one, I sometimes have that sort of affect on technology.

My son is getting the same error message as well. Last night and this morning.

Phew, we're not the only ones!

Ok just saw it is April 10th! Thanks for the help. Glad I saw this now

@Gianime @mom2mnem I just tried again and the error message did not appear. Instead green letters appeared that said "Your information has been submitted!" but when I went back to my home page the Link to the form was still red and when I clicked on it the date of my departure was cleared, but the rest was the same. I tried several more times, but it is still red. I'm thinking that maybe they have to approve it? If it doesn't change in the next few days I am going to e-mail the SLE contact.

^candidates don't request waivers -- the commissioning source does (ROTC, SA, etc). DoDMERB qualifies or disqualifies based on standards. Being DQ'd medically isn't just about you -- it's also about those you will work with, and whether your condition/medication would have an adverse effect on your ability to do your job or put your fellow soldiers in harms way.
Of course, I understand that. However, I do not take meds and the condition is gone. It took its course, and now I'm me again.

Got the same message - I'm thinking that they have to process it, especially if kids are flying in through Newark Airport. They probably have to coordinate transportation to and from the airport to campus. It may not be the case, but it's just my two cents. :)

I'm glad you're doing better. I hope you continue to thrive. However, that's not the issue. It's for DoDMERB to decide whether your qualified or not.

You have to truthful during your DoDMERBs. If the Army/military ever find out that you didn't disclose your condition, not only can you get kicked out, but you can be subjected to the UCMJ.

I have not revived word on my SLE acceptance since I applied. My portal currently says that I'm "pending". I know this is not a "good" sign on acceptance, but are people still receiving them or should I go ahead and consider it a no? Thanks yall

You're not a "No" until you get the official rejection notification. This is rolling admission, so acceptances or waitlist notifications can be sent out the next couple of months. Just hang in there. Focus on the fact that you got into NASS which is an accomplishment in itself.

Mr. 2021,

Let me share with you some wisdom I received from West Point's southeast regional commander. Acceptance to SLE has no affect on an appointment. So if your end goal is to show up on R-day, then work to make yourself a better candidate. This goes for everyone. Sorry if this comes across the wrong way but, I just wanted to help alleviate some stress for everyone.

Go Army, Beat Navy!

Mr. 2021, my status was also pending for the longest time, I checked it every day. I sent an email to my regional admissions counselor updating my GPA and a recent ec achievement. Right after that I got an acceptance email. Not sure if they can see how often you login to show interest, or that my email made a difference....hang in .... there's still hope.

I would never lie to anyone about that, let alone the service academies. I am proud to say that made me a stronger man and a better mentor to underclassmen.

Excellent! You have a bright future ahead of you. Best wishes!

Do you think I can still get an appointment to USMA or is it unlikely?

No one knows unless you try. Do everything you can to try to get the appointment (academics, leadership, athletics, etc). Don't give up. But also plan for other options. You never know what the future holds. You have overcome a lot, and I believe the way forward will be bright no matter what! Don't give up!
