I deleted the picture and don't see it on my end. Very weird. Can anyone else still see it?A great lesson in ‘once posted it’s always there’.....
The picture referenced as deleted is NOT gone. At least for me. I use the SA app, and its front and center on your post on my feed. I was startled to see it this morning actually as I was scrolling! Not sure why your post says deleted, yet it’s still there. I’m not an IT person. But it is.
Noticed the hand symbol as well and the “candidate” that was posted had been pulling a prank along with another person and had portrayed himself as an 2024 appointee. He is in the class of 2023 and sent the inappropriate photo, but luckily the admins noticed the mistake (maybe not the fastest edit, but they still tried to fix the issue) and edited his picture. Later on a DM was sent to the admin of the page notifying them that he was a current midshipmen and not a candidate who recently received an appointment, so his picture along with his shipmate picture were removed. This IG account caught my attention last night as a recent appointee. I looked through and saw that it was innocent enough and the bios of the kids are pretty harmless. I decided to steer clear of putting my name out there and potentially feeding dirt to my future detailers. But, some of the instagram accounts are filled with private high-school stuff which shouldn't be there.
One of my friends sent me this post from an account that was posted on the page:
(deleted pic, don't want to ruin this kids life.) . It's a picture of someone doing the 'ok'/'white power' hand symbol. Nothing else, just a close up of the picture.
While this 'symbol' is heavily debated, I can't believe someone would leave this on their instagram in light of recent controversy specifically related to service academy cadets.
I'm talking about something different. The post is still there. BTW, when you view my post that you quoted can you see the picture that I deleted?Noticed the hand symbol as well and the “candidate” that was posted had been pulling a prank along with another person and had portrayed himself as an 2024 appointee. To be clear, I cannot see any photo on your SAF posts for this thread.BTW, when you view my post that you quoted can you see the picture that I deleted?

Is there an app for SAF for phone use? I just use safari, so the internet/desktop version and cannot see the photo, fwiw.

I am almost always on phone app (iPhone) and have never been able to see the photo, from when first posted until now.
I stopped seeking out apps for things I can use on safari after a friend suggested I download the grade checking app for my kids' schools. It would send me alerts every time their grade went up or down a letter grade (or 2). It had an adverse effect on my day, so I quickly deleted it. And 'okay boomer' is my nephew's favorite phrase for me. I embrace it!Honestly, SAF has improved its smart phone adaptive format. I don't use the app, I just use the URL and it works MUCH better now than before. In fact, I found the app to be more difficult to navigate
(Uh oh, I can hear it now...."okay, boomer!" ).

That is almost as bad as my clients who monitor their investment accounts on an hourly basis! It would send me alerts every time their grade went up or down a letter grade (or 2). It had an adverse effect on my day, so I quickly deleted it
No, I don't think so with that one. I think the school district did that on purpose. Kidding, I'm sure there was a way, but it just bugged me so much. I don't need that kind of info every time a teacher enters a grade, or enters the wrong grade and then changes it 5 minutes later, lol!You can change your notifications to not be alerted with individual apps. It’s within your settings menu, under notifications. Or delete. That works too!
