Seems like certain members of the the Hudson, OH American Legion Post 464 aren't really interested in the origins of Memorial Day at all, unless it's a "white-washed" version.

Guess they take a pretty dim view of movies like 1989s "Glory!", with all that troublesome history of American-American troops fighting and dying for the United States of America. Divisive, you know? Shouldn't have been made, right?

Disgraceful. Despicable. Utterly hate-fueled. Anti-American.

Hopefully the Ohio State American Legion is trying to rid itself of the racists in their midst.

That's unfortunate. The fact that people can't realize that just because he mentioned slavery does not mean he was giving a hate speech is even more unfortunater. After all he fought for to give them freedom, and this is what he gets. The man fights for their right to free speech, and they are ignorant enough to take that from him. Disgraceful. Ignorant. Stupid. If you want a memorial day speech, then don't be surprised when they bring up memorial day's origins. Thanks to all the men and women on this forum who helped to make me and my country safe. Happy late memorial day.
 
They didn't mute him because they thought it was hate speech. They muted him because they were bigots who were angry that he dared to include BLACK history on MEMORIAL Day. The horror!
