Starting reapplication?

So today I received the dreaded TWE for a second time (this is my second time applying for the USMA). Rejection doesn’t get any easier the next time around, and even though I had a really strong application my district was one of the most competitive in the nation, so I just didn’t make the cut. Ah well, this has been my dream for years, so what is one more year in ROTC right! They say that third time is the charm

My question is: when should I start the re application process. From my understanding, if I apply to the class of 2016 right now, I will be removed from the class of 2015, and if a slot happened to open up I wouldn’t get it. Is this true? Or can I start my application for next year and still save a little shred of hope that the person in front of me will drop and I can have the slot?

The application won't even open for most candidates for 2016 until July

I think I understand what you're asking. You're worried that if you make a move to reapply, it will clear your portal completely and remove you from the class of 2015 application/waiting list.

I don't think you would be just "dropped" from the waiting list even if your portal did clear. I know you're in the boat with a lot of people, and I would think the waiting list still holds your place.

just curious, did you apply for a ROTC nomination? Sounds like you are 3 Qed?

Consider moving your residence to your college location?

Yea that’s pretty much what I want to know

I am 3'Qed and am currently a freshman in college with an AROTC scholarship, so "plan B" is not a problem.

How do the ROTC nominations work? Does each PMS have a spot at the academy just like congressmen/ women and senators?

There really isn't any point in starting the application this early. Just wait until it is set in stone, so after June 27th just to be on the safe side. You won't be missing anything

no, there are only 20 spots at West Point each year for ROTC nominees. Best to apply to all nomination sources available to you.

What is the estimate of the total number of people with ROTC nominations that apply? Just wondering so I know whats going on for next year.
