1. Has anyone been notified they did not get into KP?
2. Is anyone else going crazy waiting for news one way or the other?
3. Where are we supposed to get status updates without driving the admissions officer crazy?

MY DS IS GREAT with how everything is going I am losing my mind

lol same here... DS is very casual about the process, but it was (is) driving me nuts.

But his appointment showed up via FedEx this morning!

There hasn't been any portal update yet.

You had no previous notion that it was coming?
If you don't mind me asking when was his application completed

he's a recruited athlete... his coach called him this morning and said that a decision had been made on his application, but he (the coach) didn't know what it was... said he should hear soon (I think the coach was just being coy and wanted my son to find out via the "normal" process)

while my son was relaying this info to me, FedEx arrived

Can't remember exactly when the app was completed... some time mid Fall.

Son has "middle of the pack" GPA but 34 on his ACT, so we really were expecting admission

My daughter is also a recruited athlete her coach told her a month ago she was in. He talks to her most days through text message however still no FedEx I am pulling out my hair and she is like its a process mom

What sport if you don't mind me asking?

What sport? My DS got a text that he wanted to talk to my son and schedule a call.... I.m probably getting over anxious thinking it could be good news. He has an LOA and everything required BUT a medical waiver.

Have you logged into DoDMERB recently?

USMMA was definitely an outlier for my son. He received nominations to both USNA and USMMA from the same MoC. Only noticed the status change for USMMA in his DoDMERB portal while looking for an NROTC waiver update.

Almost immediately got an e-mail from USMMA requesting that a few random documents be resubmitted.

Suddenly, USMMA is back in the game!

Anecdotally, my son had a single reason DQ across the board, the only program that didn't waive it was USMA. USNA & USCGA waivers are still pending since those programs don't request waivers unless they're going to be offering an appointment.

NROTC, AFROTC, and ROTC have all granted a waiver.

Waiting on MIT (3/14), Lehigh (3/25), and Ivy Day (3/28) before son decides his program and school for ROTC.

DS received his LOA last fall, waiver for 3 DQs was finally granted Monday. He had planned his celebratory signing with the other two seniors for today several weeks ago (having faith the waiver would come through). Husband and I took the rest of the day to relax at the house. We had been looking through all the pics taken today when a FedEx truck rolled up. There is a thick envelope from USMMA!!!!! I take that as God’s lesson to have faith and it will all work out.

Congratulations 🎉! Great news! DS received word first on Monday from a Senator’s office and again on Tuesday from our Congresswoman but no FedEx truck yet. I was hoping by today, but maybe tomorrow?

I spoke too soon - it looks like FedEx stopped by later this evening. I’m out of town but it was fun to text our DS this picture 😊 (he’s coaching tonight).
