STP course change?

I received my STP confirmation today, and have been assigned to Chemistry 1 and lab. I did not put this course in any of my 3 choices, so I assume this was assigned based on the fact that I currently have a civil engineering major. However, after taking two years of college engineering classes (2 more semesters than when I applied and chose the major) , I do not believe that a major in engineering is for me. I have previously tried to contact VMI to change my major, but was told that I must wait until after Matriculation. Knowing this, Che misty will be a waste of time and money since it will not count towards the major I would like to change to (IS). Will they change my course for me under my circumstances? Or am I SOL?

Call the Registrar's office and explain that you no longer wish to take Chemistry at STP. As long as there are openings in other classes (I suggest taking Writing to get it out of the way before the Ratline) you should be fine.

In regards to changing your major, it's simple. On Matriculation Day there will be tables from each academic department who would love to have you. Handle that then.
