Hi - I'm new to this forum and hoping someone might be able to advise on a bit of an odd situation I can't seem to untangle.
In November I received two AMIs asking for a spirometry test and physician exam to support my ROTC Waiver request. I scheduled with the DodMETS referred pulmonologist for the earliest appointment which was a month later.
When I arrived for my appointment, the doctor's office said that there was some mix up with the DOD paperwork but they would proceed with my exam while this was being corrected by their office staff. The provider then proceeded to do the AMI requested spirometry test and exam - but also did a chest x-ray.
When I got home from this appointment there was a new AMI on my file which was not there prior to the scheduled exam, requesting a chest x-ray by a board certified radiologist. I contacted DoDMERB to inquire why this was added after my appointment and what I should do since the doctor had in fact completed the two view chest x-ray at the appointment but the reply I received just said that CivTeam had 30 days to submit the required information and nothing else.
After waiting 2 weeks to see if it resolved, I contacted CivTeam next and was told that the chest x-ray was not originally part of my requested AMIs from DoDMERB but because the physician did a chest x-ray (due to the confusion with the paperwork) they now needed the files. However, the physician to which I was referred does not have a radiologist on staff - only the doctors read and interpret the x-ray. The pulmonologist's interpretation was provided in the report to CivTeam but they said I could call the physician's office and have them resend the report to try to resolve.
So, I contacted the physician's office and they re-faxed the same report they had previously sent CivTeam and told me they have no other documentation to submit. After the doctor resent the same report, my DoDMETS site now shows all three AMIs as Case Closed.
Yesterday I got a new letter from DoDMERB again requesting the AMI for chest x-ray. I emailed to inquire what to do and included a screenshot of my DoDMETS site showing all AMIs, including chest x-ray as Case Closed. But DoDMERB says that they did not receive the actual written report of the chest x-ray as requested in R242.00. I think the issues is that the physician's office to which the CivTeam referred me is not able to provide a report in the format DoDMERB wants to receive it. I have explained the situation to DoDMERB, CivTeam and the provider but everyone keeps just referring me back to someone else. I would be fine completing another chest x-ray but DoDMETS site shows that I have already done my chest x-ray and the Case is closed so I'm unable to schedule an appointment.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? Any advice on how I might bring this to conclusion? I've been trying to stay really on top of my file (applying to USMA and have been awarded a 4 year AROTC scholarship) and have completed everything else. Thank you!
