Sometimes it also helps to hear stuff from people other than ‘just mom and dad’ who ‘don’t know anything’
A start: offer to teach a group of peers how to do this. It will do good, and help show your leadership abilities.I have a question about this. I don't have any sort of official leadership positions but I live on a larger plot of land with my family and through the pandemic I have been planning/building a 2 acre garden based around permaculture principles. Could I frame this as a leadership position? or does it come across as more of a niche hobby? I don't really know how any of this college stuff works because my parents are not from here so any thoughts or comments would be really helpful.
This is a great point and one that will come in handy. Thank you.I also would like to contest your point that they can't say "was supposed to lead ______." You just have to word it differently - "was elected by peers to lead the military support club." Admissions doesn't live in a box, and obviously they know COVID happened, but simply being selected for such an honor is demonstrative of leadership. There is no need to go into great depth on this, as I assume it would go on the resume or something similar, not in a full-fledged essay.
Our NHS has the members tutor other students...that surely still needs to be done, even if done remotely.
