So I am going to boys state this summer. (Yeah!) But I applied to another program in case I didn't get in. It is called governors Institute of Vermont and I was wondering if I should still go. I am taking the engineering course so that is what I would be doing. They are on different weeks so there's no interference there. Is this something I could put on my application to USMA? It is also a costly investment (how much you pay is based on income, gotta love Vermont). The program will take time away from legion baseball and working this summer. I was wondering do any other states have governors programs like this? Or is it worth it to miss out on all that time. Thanks for any replies

Congratulations of being selected for Boys' State! West Point looks favorably upon Boys' State! Work hard and shoot for Boys' Nation.

My USMA Firstie attended Boys' State his junior year and traveled on 2 mission trips. He also played American Legion baseball so I hate that GIV would interfere with that for you. I guess you have to weigh the financial part with the "does this actually add to my resume" part.
