so far I have gotten recruiting emails from USNA asking me to sign up for NASS based on my PSAT scores. I have also gotten recruiting pamphlets in the mail asking me to sign up.
My parents will only let me go to Two of the summer seminars even though I applied to USAFA, USMA and USNA.
I have been accepted to USMA and USAFA but haven't heard from USNA.
anyone have any clues as to when we will hear? i signed up for USMA but am waiting on USAFA until I hear back from USNA but I am worried I will lose my slot at USAFA waiting to hear back from USNA.
From 2012mom?:
If I were you, I would contact USNA admissions and let them know that you have invitations to the other two, that you will only be allowed to attend two, and you would like to hear from USNA before your deadline to respond to the other two academies. So long as you do it respectfully (you, the candidate, not your parents), I can't believe it could hurt.
SA, if you get any reponse other than boilerplate,"Acceptance will be sent out...", many of us would like to know.
On his NASS app, my son answered that he could attend any NASS. USNA is his #1 choice. He also applied to USMA SLS. He was hoping to manage both.
We called USMA they said since he was accepted, it would be no prob to get week 2. We called USNA admissions they told us nothing but it wouldn't hurt to put something in writing.
My son wrote a very non-presumptuous email to
webmail@usna.edu, explaining that the only way to make them both work would be to get USNA session 1, but if he could only do one, it would be NASS. He explained that he would be traveling alone, from the middle of nowhere, using planes, trains and buses to get from home to Annapolis to West Point and winging it in NYC for a day and two nights.
He received the boilerplate response above.
We aren't complaining. We appreciate the number of requests they probably receive and others will make greater sacrifices than my son. I am simply letting you know the response we got.
If anyone has any suggestions please let us know. We fear being caught at the USMA SLS commitment deadline, before having word from NASS.
Thaks in advance.
