Summer Seminar GPA for AFA

I am working on my summer seminar application and for GPA I am confused, on the summer seminar information page it says they need your first semester of your junior year as well, however, my first semester ends January 9th which is cutting it very close to the application deadline. Should I report my current GPA? Thank you in advance!

How quickly does your school post grades after end of semester? I know many nowadays are electronic and within a day or two...deadline is Jan 15 so may be time. Most will not have grades until around the 3rd due to holidays.

I would suggest completing everything else and waiting to upload grades at very end as soon as they come out. DO NOT miss deadline though...if they are not out by 14th submit what you have and it's out of your control.

Are you reporting weighted GPA? I believe I was in a similar situation last year and I reported my unweighted GPA since that usually does not change much.

Your 'current' unweighted GPA will be fine. Unlike SLE and NASS, AF will not select any candidates prior to the deadline (as noted by @Georgia Hokie) so if you want wait, that will work too. I also remind my students to indicate that you desire the application to serve as your pre-candidate questionnaire (PCQ) too. As I recall, you 'checked' a block on the application prior to submitting it. Good luck!

The summer seminar application cannot be used as the Pre-candidate Questionnaire this year. You cannot opt in. This is because the application is being redesigned for the class of 29.
