Summer Seminar GPA Scale

Unweighted is based on a 4.0 scale (typically) -- remember the application is due on the 15th! :)

Thanks, and I’m assuming weighted would be 5.0 scale?
No, no; = most High schools have a 4.0 scale, and some have a 5.0 scale.
Your transcript will usually list a 4.0 unweighted and a 4.0 weighted calculation.
Your weighted calculation is usually used to calculate your class rank. For example, if you have all A's, your unweighted would be 4.0....But for example, if you've taken 8 AP and all Honors classes, your "weighted" could be something like 4.47 (depending on how your HS calculates the values of their more difficult classes)...this is how they will rank students in the class.

Find out on your transcript if your HS uses a 4.0 scale. If you can't see anything there, ask your counselor.
Academies will consider your unweighted GPA, class rank and weighted GPA, and will want to know your High School's academic profile to compare the competitiveness of your particular HS to others in your state and nationwide. They use algorithms to do this.

I've seen a lot of other schools do 5.0 weighted, but at least for mine, we're on an 8.0 weighted scale, and a 4.0 unweighted. Class rank is based off the weighted.
