Hi, My DD is in the first session June 7th and we were curious as to whether or not there will be any contact with admissions during this time? I was told this is 100% informational only and there is no bearing on the application. Just thought I'd double check with all of you. Thanks!
 
Summer Seminar was cancelled last year so I can’t tell you exactly what they do, however, I have heard that you have a session or two with tips on the candidate phase of the process. As for your application score, there is no positive or negative effect of attending summer seminar (it doesn’t get you any bonus points).
 
According to a schedule we received, the admissions office will help open the seminar on the first day and conclude it on the last day. I bet they will have a little bit of time during the seminar to talk, but not in incredible detail. And correct, there is no bearing on the application with regards to attending SS.

Hello! My son has not received a schedule or email or package and he is to start on Monday June 7th. He has emailed to check in to see what’s up....when did you receive your info?
 
Hi! I received an email on May 21st with a schedule and talent release form. Make sure to check his spam folder - something may have gone there. I also reached out and it took a while to hear back, but something will come eventually.

Also... don't want to back track too much, but did he accept the offer in his portal after receiving an acceptance email? That's all I can think of... Good Luck!!
 
Hello! I recently got an email regarding Summer Seminar from my Team Leader and I asked her about gear. She's said she's going to get back to me today as I also start on the 7th. Just like afkid202603 said, check spam. My email didn't go to spam, but it might've gone there for your son.
 
Summer Seminar is a "peek inside" of USAFA and the culture. It gives potential USAFA candidates an opportunity to participate and learn about USAFA and assists them to make a decision as to whether or not the Academy is the right path to take. Considering the Service Academies' lifestyle is so different from "regular college" lifestyles, if you have the opportunity to attend the summer seminar it should assist your decisions.
My DS was fortunate to able to attend, and when he came home, he was able to illiterate why he felt USAFA was right for him, he became more confident in his decision and asked us for our support...we are first time military family, so we could not advise him one way or another due to our lack of knowledge.
The Summer Seminar allowed him to figure out the timeline and the next steps needed in order to successfully complete his candidacy.

Alrighty, so my Team Leader got back to me and she said: Hey, I got a tiny bit more information about packages! I wish I had more information to offer you, but I can assure you they are sending them with the hopes they arrive during the week of summer seminar. I do know nothing in there is required for the program itself, but I wish I had a better timeline to offer you. I hope this helps if anyone was wondering.

Hello all! Thank you all for your responses. So my son did receive an email a few days ago from his Element Leader with details on getting started next Monday. Looks like the emails and schedules came on varied dates over the past several weeks. Still waiting for the gear package but at least he’s all set for Monday. Thanks again!
 
I'm in the June 7 seminar and haven't received an email from my Element Leader (checked spam folder), anyone else? I did receive the schedule and talent release forms.

Hi! There was an email describing how it will be conducting using Microsoft Team. My son got that but didn’t get a schedule. Sounds like people are getting things differently and at different times. No package with gear yet either.
Good luck-I am sure something will be sent via email today or tomorrow AM.

You should've gotten the email from USAFASS the about a schedule, and each of the team element leader will email you about the Microsoft teams. Check your spam fold if it is in there. If it isn't there, PM me so I could send you a picture of the schedule!
 
I attended the USNA summer seminar session 1A, which ended last week, and I've been anticipating the arrival of my gear. Sadly, I have not received it yet, and I really want to get it as soon as I can

Also a little bit frustrating because I paid $300 for the program too
