Summer Stem 2021

I realize people are still waiting on their class appointments and that obviously takes precedence currently. BUT - is there any word out at all about Summer Stem this year? The original reply to application said notifications would be made by mail by May 1. It seems all other notifications are being made by email. Has anyone heard back about summer stem acceptance either way yet? Hoping to get this journey started!
 
My DD was accepted this week. I will add that they had a little hiccup with the email we got. I received an email saying we had 4 days left to secure her spot. Even when I used their payment portal her name did not produce the bill. I sent an email and they apologized, sent the congratulation email and fixed the portal to pay. This was just my experience and I'm sure not the norm. I'm sure May 1st is still correct but only USNA knows.
 
I too am also waiting, a little anxious because I thought I’d hear by now but.. hopefully I get the mail/letter by May 1st!
 
@InItToWinIt I just saw/discovered that the Summer STEM is virtual? Did you know about this? When I signed up there wasn't anything about virtual Summer STEM, I thought we were doing in person! Ahhh, that's such a bummer if its only virtual!

Yes, I saw that it's virtual. Pretty disappointing. But others who did it virtually last year said they still really enjoyed it and it was a great experience.
 
Pretty sure USNA has been advertising that summer programs (STEM and SS) were going to be virtual this year. Attention to detail? 🤷‍♂️

@goofymango @InItToWinIt We signed up on January 4th with the idea that it may be virtual like 2020. We are in Florida and been in brick-n-mortar school all year so virtual would not be a problem. I know some people have expressed that they are burnt out on virtual. Plus we wanted to take the opportunity given to her as following years are not guaranteed. DD is very happy she got it and looking forward to it.

Don't forget to check junk mail box. USNA emails have a tendency to end up there😁

When I applied there was nothing about it being virtual, so I assumed that it was going to be in person and that they had decided that. I guess they changed it after I applied? Or yeah, maybe I didn't pay attention.
 
anyone heard anything? It’s May 1st and I have yet to receive an email or letter by mail... getting a little worried..
 
Rising junior received a rejection yesterday by email. Enrolled in USNA soccer and lacrosse camps on campus over the summer as an alternative way to still be involved.

The rejection is unfortunate but that's awesome you have the sports camps as an option.

Are the sports camps as competitive to get into as summer stem? I was rejected too and may look into that.
