Surgery... but no remedial

So, I had a foot surgery in Spring 2015. It was a Kidner procedure, where they removed an extra bone in my left foot. I was also born with an extra bone in the other foot, but didn't have it removed as it wasn't symptomatic. I was anxiously waiting for a remedial, records in hand, expecting a possible DQ. However, when I was given a remedial, it was for... cramps? I was never asked to provide AMI about the surgery. Is it normal for surgeries to pass through without requiring any AMI? I'm afraid everything is going to work out and then another remedial will pop up later on.

Did you ever mentioned anything about cramps? Cramps of what sort? Be grateful no Remedials where asked for surgery because I have read those take a long time. Don't dwell on it or ask DODMERB about it in my opinion. If they deemed all good then you should just let it be and be glad.

Thanks for the reply! I am on birth control for cramping, so got a remedial requesting records from my GYN who prescribed the birth control to make sure it wasn't debilitating. I definitely won't bring up the surgery to DoDMERB, it's on my forms so if they want to know they'll ask..which they hopefully won't. I just expected to get asked for both remedials at once, and this first process has already been slowgoing so I'm hoping I won't have to do it again.

Adding to this question, I was prescribed birth control 1 time when I was 12 or 13 for heavy flow/acne. It was never a regular prescription and I had no real problems that led me to take it (just for trying to control heavy flow/acne). Is this something I should still report to DoDMERB? It seems like something that will just cause problems.

Expect a remedial for the surgery. There seems to be multiple levels of review. If the first reviewer didn't catch something, for sure the doctor who ultimately reviews your file and signs off on it will.

If the screening form says “have you ever been on any medications,” yes, list it. If it says “are you on any medications,” and you are no longer on it, then it isn’t necessary to add it. However, make sure you are honest, because if you neglect to report something (no matter how minor you think it is), it can be found out later and result in much harsher consequences than the inconvenience of a remedial.

Just thought I’d update in case anyone comes across a similar issue - I received a qualified status letter today. They never requested any additional information about the surgery. It was a very minor surgery, and I explained it thoroughly in the initial forms, so perhaps they decided it wasn’t necessary.
