I am currently in AROTC and will be an MSII this coming fall. I had corrective surgery to repair tarsal coalition of my right foot sophomore year of high school. (2005) I wear semi-rigid orthotics in both of my shoes, and normally wear new balance shoes because of the support provided. I have been doing PT all of last year and did not have an issue with it. Would this disqualify me from contracting with ROTC? I also had a torn labrum that was repaired late March of this year and am currently finishing up physical therapy for it. I have regained majority of the motion back. However i have not gone past 90 degrees in external rotation. My doctor told me that he performed many of these surgeries on military personnel, and has never had a problem with them continuing service. Would this also be a problem?

Thanks in advance!

This is something that must be coordinated from your PMS to the Cadet Command Surgeon. Once contracted, it's a medical determination between those two officers. DoDMERB has no authority/responsibility.:thumb:
