Just from what I have seen on this forum, it seems pretty certain that "the big wave" will be tomorrow. I hope all candidates reading this right now wake up tomorrow to great news in their portal. All those who have already been accepted, congratulations! I am extremely envious of this great privilege you have received and I hope I get to meet you in June. I wanted to thank all the members of this forum for all their help through out the application process. You all have been extremely helpful and the entire process has honestly helped a lot to keep me occupied and distracted over this strange past year. If any of us don't receive the news tomorrow we were hoping for, please remember it's not over until we get the TWE. I wish you all the best of luck and I look forward to reading happy comments tomorrow. It has been a pleasure to compete with you all.
 
Good luck to you as well my friend. In brutal honesty I have dwindling hope, but faith that whatever path I am provided will be the one that is best suited for me. I have faith that the same goes for you and the other candidates anxiously waiting.

Say a prayer or two, if you are religious. Not a prayer to receive an appointment, but a prayer that you will be given the opportunity to carry out a principled and honorable career... and life. While I would trade almost anything for an appointment to any of the academies I applied to, I wouldn't trade my principles, for that's what defines me as a person... not the status of an application on my portal.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with this, but keep in mind that the pixels that appear on your computer screen tomorrow at 4:30am, whether unchanged or updated, do not define you as a person. The one thing you can always control is your principles and your pursuit in improving upon them and applying them to your endeavors.

Seriously, Good Luck. We're gonna need it. There's some fine men and women that we're up against, yourself included.
 
I will add that (being a re-applicant myself) if you don't wake up to good news tomorrow, this week, or any time at all for the rest of this cycle, your disappointment is natural- but you should keep in mind that there are so many great options to pursuing the career that you want.

The Academy, being my dream school when I was in high school last year, seemed like the ONLY thing I wanted. I could accept nothing else. Then my rejection came and I had to start looking at my local state school with the AFROTC program that I "for sure" thought I wouldn't even need to consider. As it turns out, that AFROTC program has turned out to be such an amazing experience and I've grown and developed my character and leadership experience more in the last few months than I have in my entire life prior.

I'm personally reapplying to USAFA because that's where the pilot slots are plentiful, and that's what I want to do. However, if I actually get in I will need to seriously spend days or weeks considering if I will actually accept the appointment because it would mean leaving behind the wonderful program and people that I've grown so close to for the past few months. I will add that I'm not nearly as stressed in this cycle as I was the last cycle, because of the reasons above as well as I'm not expecting to get in and I know I have a secure path to commission- AFROTC. This isn't about me, though. I'm hoping this makes sense to those of you who were in the same spot as I was last year. There are so many other great options for doing what you want to do. Please try not to worry, and treat every news you get as an opportunity!

Well I was just scrolling through at 2 in the mornin to see how we’re all doin, it seems that I fall in the same boat as many of us in this chat. Now that I see this, I will say a prayer. For all of us. That we may be put on the path that’s right for us, whether we understand it now, or later. Best of hope!

Just curious, did anyone else receive an email regarding information about an appointment offer while the server is still down? I don't think I've felt this nervous in a while.

When did your email come in? Did you check the portal?
 
If you have not received a TWE or email stating your journey has ended, you are still in the game. You’ve done all you can for plan A, so work on plan B and focus on the things you have control over. Simply being nominated is an accomplishment few can state, so be proud of what got you to this point and walk with your heads high.
