The Big Wave

Are there any more waves/time slots later today or in the future that is releasing results? Didn't hear back in the "big wave" and was wondering for any other chances?

Thank you! Do you know any more of the "big release" days? Or is it now pretty much rolling admission and whenever we hear back?

I believe they dispatch more as necessary depending on how many accept/decline their appointment offers. In this sense I believe it would be rolling and you can hear just about any time.

Say a prayer or two, if you are religious. Not a prayer to receive an appointment, but a prayer that you will be given the opportunity to carry out a principled and honorable career... and life. While I would trade almost anything for an appointment to any of the academies I applied to, I wouldn't trade my principles, for that's what defines me as a person... not the status of an application on my portal.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with this, but keep in mind that the pixels that appear on your computer screen tomorrow at 4:30am, whether unchanged or updated, do not define you as a person. The one thing you can always control is your principles and your pursuit in improving upon them and applying them to your endeavors.

Seriously, Good Luck. We're gonna need it. There's some fine men and women that we're up against, yourself included.

Wow. If this is representative of the kind of people my DS will be working with at the academy, then what a privilege. Wonderful post - good luck to you.
 
Son just checked. Nada.

Now, in the waiting game to see if he gets a TWE. He isn't saying it, but I know he's probably disappointed. He got an LOA to the USNA, but didn't get a nomination, which was all he needed. And while he hasn't received a TWE from there yet, chances are slim that he gets there as well.

He's got Plan C with a partial merit scholarship, and some chances at more scholarships. So he still has good things possible in his future!

Same here..nada. I know he’s disappointed but he will never say it nor will he show it. His Plan B is firmly in place. I have tremendous pride for my DS - he is a stellar human being as well as a great student and we’re lucky to have him as our son. His future is bright, regardless.
 
For just some info, Admissions is giving until May 1st to accept or decline appointment, so there will be more. Our DD received appointments to both USAFA and USNA, and has her mind set on a preference, but we told her to take a week to think hard on her decision.

Appointment offers come out in blocks, starting around now, then about weekly until mid-late April when big drop of TWEs come out. So if nothing today, then not in first block.

Best to not try to interpret or read into it at this point. Celebrate those who've received offers, hope yours or the candidate(s) you're cheering for are next.

Waiting is the hardest part. We're very familiar with it in our house. Last year after big TWE drop in mid-April my DS was still in limbo for another 3 weeks when Falcon scholarship offer received. It's definitely not easy, keep plan B,C,D, etc in play. It ain't over till it's over.

Not sure what you mean by "why this seems to be happening to a few of us" as you already stated correctly why it is happening: "one cannot be given an appointment with medical status outstanding."

Just from what I have seen on this forum, it seems pretty certain that "the big wave" will be tomorrow. I hope all candidates reading this right now wake up tomorrow to great news in their portal. All those who have already been accepted, congratulations! I am extremely envious of this great privilege you have received and I hope I get to meet you in June. I wanted to thank all the members of this forum for all their help through out the application process. You all have been extremely helpful and the entire process has honestly helped a lot to keep me occupied and distracted over this strange past year. If any of us don't receive the news tomorrow we were hoping for, please remember it's not over until we get the TWE. I wish you all the best of luck and I look forward to reading happy comments tomorrow. It has been a pleasure to compete with you all.

I’m in the same boat. My impression (feel free to correct my if I’m wrong) is that it’s similar to an LOA - it’s a promise of an appointment if we become 3Qed. Best of luck to you.
