The Citadel Acceptance Requirements

This might be a silly question, but hoping some of you might be able to answer for me. My DS was accepted to The Citadel (class of 2022), contingent upon paying the fee (done), sending infirmary info (done - waiting to see if they need more info), and finally they want an official transcript at the end of the school year to make sure your grades are comparable with the transcript you sent in (and were accepted from). How bad would this years transcripts have to be for them to take back the acceptance? The only reason I ask is that he is taking a senior chemistry class this year with a teacher that is less than engaged in teaching. He and most of the class are not doing well on the tests because she isn't doing much teaching, instead she is on her phone. He is getting A's in every other class, with one B, and a C+ in the Chemistry class. Once this semester is over (end of the month) he is going to transfer into another Chemistry class, with a different teacher, but he is worried about not doing well in this class and The Citadel taking back the acceptance. Does this happen often? Thanks for your feedback.

I doubt this is the kind of question any person on this forum would be able to answer. The benefit of going to a small college like The Citadel is that once the college has made the decision to accept your son, the staff are definitely interested in his being able to matriculate and enroll in the Fall. Best suggestion is for your son to connect with the counselor in the Admission's Office who is assigned to his region and discuss the situation.

+1 Agree with Glen. The Citadel's Admissions office would be the best resource for you. They were very helpful to my DS regarding all our questions.

Generally speaking, A Senior year "C" or even a "D" in one STEM class is usually not enough to revoke an acceptance in most non-Ivy and non-SA colleges so long as it is an isolated event.
