DS is headed to The Citadel this fall. The Citadel offers a program called The Citadel Success Institute. I was curious if anyone was familiar with this program?
 
I don't have a ton of information as my son will be heading in as a knob in the fall too. I can tell you he has stayed in contact with his knob host from his overnight visit. According to his host, it's a great way to transition into life at the Citadel. It's lower pressure than challenge week to try to familiarize yourself with campus, rules and life in a 4th class system. Not to mention, you get a class completed and jump start PT. Hope that helps.
 
Our DD is going to matriculate this August and she is already registered and paid up for CSI. The website is full of helpful information.

Everyone (student and parent) that we have talked to has recommended the program, but you have to give up 3 1/2 weeks of your summer (almost all of July) to attend.

The cost is $2,600 and my understanding is that the AROTC Scholarship my DD has doesn’t cover it because it is before the normal school year.

for what it's worth, my son is already registered also. Giving up 3 1/2 weeks is a bummer, but he is looking forward to it.
 
Does anyone know if there is a class of 2022 Facebook page? Would love to start making connections.
 
All the feedback I have heard on the program is extremely positive and it makes the transition to cadet life much less stressful, the retention rate for those attending is around 85%. The '22 parents FB page is already active and you can use this board to ask questions and get info.
