"The hardest thing I've ever done" Candidate Statement

I've almost completed my application. However, there is one thing I have procrastinated a lot, which is the second candidate statement.
The hardest thing I've ever done in my life is coming to terms with my sexuality and living on a farm in the south (my family is not supportive etc.). Is that too deep for this? I can't think of a way to approach that topic without it seeming like that is all there is to me. Any advice?

You could write about the conflict that you deal with in ensuring that people see you as a multi-faceted and talented individual; that you are not defined by your sexuality.

It's a good start, but have a quantifiable goal. Like: I gained my family's acceptance by coming to terms with my sexuality. You had some outcomes and you achieved them. I think it's not a bad topic.
