The Wait

Seriously loosing hope. You would think the majority of people must have head by now if they are receiving an appointment, right? My DD seems pretty calm about it all, but she is so busy with life that she doesn't have time to think about it 24/7 like I do LOL ... Hanging on by a thread here LOL
The majority have not heard by now. Not everyone who applied EA has a decision and no one who applied EA and was deferred to RA has decision. Just because your app was EA does not guarantee and EA decision. You can get deferred or admit to prep. Later you may be WL for admit or WL for prep. Some candidates will not get a decision until late March or Early April. Even recruited athletes. Be prepared to stand by for a long wait. On R Day no one knows who was first Commissioned, admit on Early Decision, admit on regular admit or admitted from the Wait List. They are all the same.

You sound like an amazing parent. DD will be a credit wherever she lands. All the best!

Still waiting - do you think there will be a bunch that happen all at the same time.

So if DS applied EA as a very strong candidate according to coach and admissions interactions - will he not find out if he is accepted EA or deferred by 12/23?

All EA applicants should have some sort of reply by 12/23. Either 1) appointment (could be conditional on medical) 2) denied 3) deferred to Regular Admissions cycle.

Very much waiting to hear positive news regarding an admission into the USCGA! Good luck to everyone waiting to hear! It is a very stressful wait.

This is my second time on this ride, in some ways it’s easier and in others it’s not. Parents hold your anxiety close to the vest and practice saying positive true affirmations to your child . “This is just part of the process. “ “ if you don’t get in it will still be ok” “ plan b, c or z are also great options “

The thing is most kids who are even in this process are well accomplished and could go to many schools which are exceptional! It’ll all be ok!

Such great advice! I also feel that if our children know just how anxious and/or stressed out we are as parents, the might feel like they are disappointing us if they don't get in. They certainly don't need any other stress or negative feelings.
