This time last week, I was all over the forums watching things happen, hoping for the best for all of you. Cheering you on and hopeful I could help if things didn't go the way you wished. This week, my heart is elsewhere. As some of you know, DS is at MMI, Marion Military Institute in the SAP program. This week MMI mourns.

Saturday evening, four were involved in a serious accident. I won't go into details, the information is out there for those that want to know more. Suffice it say, there are families grieving and other families hoping for a positive outcome.

I'm writing this because in spite of all your hard work to get where you want to be, parents, kids, friends and family, sometimes there are things more important. As parents, we try to teach, guide and inspire our children and put them in best possible place for a better future. Sometimes that future is far beyond anyone's scope of understanding.

Stay focused on the important things, try not to get lost in the details. Call your parents, they'd love to hear from. Pester your kids, even if they don't want to hear from you. Hug everyone tight when you can. I'll still be here to cheer you on, help if I can, keep the MMI family in your prayers.

It’s so sad to hear about these things. DS has a former club teammate on the Wyoming Swim Team - still can’t stop thinking about those families. Will add MMI to my “send positive vibes” list. My stomach hurts thinking about what some of them are going through.

So true and so heartbreaking.
Sometimes, we take some people for granted without realizing that we might lose them forever.

I think that sometimes we are so focused on chasing a dream that we don't realize the beauty of life happening around us.I was like that when I was younger working 24/7 and trying hard to achieve my goal until I noticed that I'm missing a lot of things in life.
