Russia and China hold first joint patrol in the western Pacific, Russian defense ministry says
https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/23/asia/russia-china-patrol-pacific-defense-intl/index.html

We had better be working fast at building a strong Pacific military alliance to stand up to China. We need all-in. Japan, India, Australia, Philippines, South Korea and whoever else can help. And we need to decide whether it is worth going to war with China over Taiwan. The best way to prevent China from invading Taiwain is a strong military alliance and a clear message that we are willing to go to war over Taiwan. I am afraid we are not doing what needs to be done.

So no more America First and go xxxx yourself to the rest of the world including our allies like some might want to do with NATO etc?

What you suggest sounds like a reasonable very traditional american approach to US foreign policy

I'm inclined to think that several developments, over the past few months, were potential indicators of what appears to be happening now.

I'll leave my personal opinions about those developments out if this thread. I don't need another "time out." (Although my week-long detention did give me time to catch up on my needlepoint projects)

Certainly we need to strengthen our alliances with freedom loving allies world wide, but not foot the bill as in the catastrophe which is NATO.
I’d love to see the list , of approved freedom loving countries we could join with , who let’s not forget will pay their fair share .

I get confused , are we talking about a serious problem and confronting other countries hostile to US interests , with a group of like minded somewhat friendly countries , who will stand with us,

or are we trying to find a way to work with as few other friendly countries that we can and are doing so over disagreements about who pays how much?
