Is there a time limit to submit AMI? With school/sports schedules, might be difficult to get requested exam super quick.
Obviously we want to get it done as soon as possible, but it didn't seem like there is a specific timeframe- just want to make sure I'm not missing it!
Thanks!

No time limit from the DoDMERB standpoint.

In other words, DoDMERB won’t say something like “We won’t accept the AMI since it’s more than 30 days after we asked for it.” DoDMERB will take it any time you are able to do so.

DoDMERB’s mindset is you, as the applicant, have an internal motivation/time clock to get the info in at whichever time you want. It’s all on you.

There is no time limit....BUT! The longer you take to get the AMI to DoDMERB the longer it will take to start the next step in the process. That next step can take alot longer than you think. Also, don't assume that this is the only request for AMI or issue that will be raised by DoDMERB.

For example, DS is going through DoDMERB for side load in NROTC right now. Had a request for AMI related to one minor issue. He got that done in a few days. Now they are requesting AMI related to a diagnosis he had when he was 5 years old. Again, not a major problem, but now he is scrambling to get this done even though he thought his DoDMERB journey was just about over. He was awarded a scholarship at the end of July, and he is still going through the DoDMETS and DoDMERB process and he was getting everything in ASAP.

I understand school and sports are important, but be mindful that this process will take longer than you think even when everything goes well.

We are eager to get it done, just wanted to make sure there wasn't a timeline I wasn't aware of. When we checked DODMETS, there wasn't even info there yet on who to see- it was still stating case closed!
Hopefully it will be a quick process.
