My DS is about to submit the required parts of USAFA app to trigger DODMERB. What’s the turn around time to get the email and then how much time does he have to get physical done? He’s leaving across the country to take a college class, so if he has to do it and can’t ask for an extension, can he go without a parent?

Thanks!!!

My DS got his DODMERB notification to create an account about 3 days after he submitted his triggering item. He created the account, filled out his initial paperwork, which then gave the option to schedule his appointments ,which are next week. He's a minor, so I plan on going with, but there was the option to submit a signed parental consent. The specific statement from the instructions is below.

" If you are under 18 years of age, you need SIGNED parental consent. If your parent is not coming, he/she/they should just sign a letter stating that I have permission to review your medical history, do a physical examination, and do an audiogram."

Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing this. In the notification, did it instruct your son to visit DoDMETS in order to submit his initial paperwork? Only reason I ask is that I have submitted my triggering item yesterday, and have DoDMERB access today, but not DoDMETS, and have no available forms on DoDMERB, but I have not received the notification to create an account, so I may just be getting ahead of myself.

The system will direct you to contact the provider directly via phone to schedule their appointments.
