Timeline to Accept/Reject Offer?

If an offer is received --

1) For Direct Appointment, how long does one have to or decline? And does this period shorten for an offer received after April 1 or May 1?

2) Same question for USAFAPS and Falcon Foundation.
 
My DS recieved an offer to USAFAPS in late May, it came to my email, not his, and he had just 48 hours to accept or it would move to the next person. I don't always check my personal email, so it was very lucky that I even seen it.
 
My direct appointment gives me until May 1st to decide. I would assume it is the same regardless of when the appointment was given, since May 1st is the default college decision day.
