Torpedos

With the eradication/ essentially everything “Confederate” eliminated at West Point, why are the Japanese torpedos on permanent/dominant display at USNA? As a 50 year old that was nurtured by both European and pacific theatre veterans, I truly cannot rationalize why the Japanese torpedos are given such prominence on the USNA campus?

Both things represent history, but history is sometimes re-written until it makes the writers feel better about it and doesn't bother the folks who never learn about it, or from it.
