For those of you who have transferred your ROTC scholarship to a different school than you originally accepted, how long did the process take to get approval/denial? My daughter (4-yr winner) accepted to a school she was ultimately not admitted to, hence the need to transfer. She finally picked that school and we uploaded the transfer request letter and admittance letter (it has been validated in the portal). What's the wait time? Thanks.

DS requested a transfer this week and got a response within a day. I don’t think there was an email; it showed up in his portal.

Thank you for your response. I had my daughter look in her portal, but she didn't see anything. Do you know which tab or where he found the information? The ROO at the University where she committed told her he didn't think the transfer would be a problem, but until it's done....

There is only one page in the portal now (no tabs) and it will tell you there.
I don't think there will be a problem unless it's a popular unit that fills up. Since he received his scholarship last week various NROTC units have reached out to him... so it kind of feels like units are hoping for transfers. Good luck!

I’m sorry, ours is for NROTC- I didn’t read carefully!

Update: she received the notification that her transfer was approved today, so it took about 10 days to process. Now all is good and she's ready to matriculate at her chosen university and contract into ROTC. We are very thankful for this scholarship, and the fact that the university provides room and board to ROTC scholarship winners, so she (in effect) has a full ride for college.

Congrats! DS submitted his transfer request today. ROO predicts it should move quickly, but I won't rest easy until it's a done deal. I am sure you felt much the same and just wanted your daughter to be able to settle her plans and be sure of her path.

Closing the loop here. Scholarship transfer request submitted via the portal on Tuesday. Approved today. So, two days processing time.

FWIW, DS was transferring scholarship from a crosstown school to the host school of the same program. So, technically, his scholarship was already committed to that host program. We were really only changing which school will be getting the tuition check. The ROTC unit did not change. I was told by the ROO that this would streamline the process/timeline for a transfer.
