Hello,
My son is a Freshman and an Air Force ROTC cadet in a 4 year college. He loves ROTC experience so far, but the university is on the opposite coast from where we live, and he wishes to be closer. He currently has a Merit Scholarship which pays for 100% tuition (please note it is not an ROTC scholarship), has a college GPA of 3.6. High school GPA was 3.8 and he has excellent SAT scores.
He just submitted a Transfer application to a University for Fall 2019 to start his Sophomore year, and it is a very competitive university (Top 40).
Would it help if he contacts AFROTC team at the new university at this time before decisions come out to express interest or would that be viewed unfavorably? He does plan to continue with AFROTC there, without a doubt.
Appreciate any advice.
