Everyone who applies is considered not just for an appointment, but for NAPS and Foundation Scholarship at civil prep. If you are fully qualified (and USNA does not formally tell you that), it is unlikely you would be offered a prep spot.
But never give up hope until you know for certain all doors are closed this cycle. USNA has complete discretion for prep offers. There could be some of you not strong enough for an appointment, not quite suitable for waitlist but close to being borderline prep, but others are ahead of you in desirability for prep.
None of of this can you know or control. This is a great time to practice mental discipline and PT yourself until you are too exhausted to think. You can control your thoughts, a useful life skill, especially for anyone who aspires to the warrior life.
You all just hang in.
