I received my Turn down e-mail for the third time earlier today.
Same, third timer too. Chin up, move on!
So sorry to hear this. Your perseverance should lead you to some great adventures on your journey. Stay true to your course.
It hurts to hear that. I am very sorry. Keep your head up man, you've gained so many life skills by applying and showed tremendous perseverance. We are all proud of you.
Very sorry to hear this.
Are you enrolled in NROTC?
so sorry to hear that USNAHopeful2. All the best in whatever your future does hold.
Sorry to hear this. Through 3 years of attempting this you have shown a great deal of patience and perseverance all great attributes of an officer. I hope you can shake this off and pursue another path to being an officer. best of luck.
The roller coaster ended for DD yesterday as well. Second time getting the email and portal update "turned down". What a ride it has been, all I can say is that we are all emotionally exhausted! Our DD has learned so much throughout this process, we have no doubt that she will be successful starting this new chapter. She has been fortuntate to have so many people in her corner supporting her through this maze. An unbelievable USNA coach who kept her in the loop and went to bat for her when she was being reviewed, her Admission Counselor who happened to be from our area who met with her several times in the last two years and became a friend along the way, a BGO that she wasn't even assigned to who would regularly meet her at starbucks to give her advice and lend an ear, and a Congressional Committee who saw enough potential to give her a principal nomination in a competitive state and district. It is time for us to move on, wishing everyone good luck. Really hoping to hear some good news from last years group..Anne99,Norfolk63, For God and Country, Jimmay,USNA2015,superior rocks. Fingers crossed for you all!
Very sorry to hear the news.
What is your DD's plan B? NROTC? Reapply next year?
Anne99 posted appointment yesterday
Norfolk63 posted appointment on February 3
Scout-NC, you must have really raised a terrific DD that so many people have seen such potential in her. This will be a stepping stone that will drive her in her future success. I wish her the best....
Sorry to hear that. DD got one on the 16th. First time try. But she has wonderful back up plans. Hang in there.
it's so special to see that at a time of sorrow, what you write about is how everyone has helped your DD and how grateful you are for the support. Your DD is truly fortunate to have a parent like you and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors!
I am just heartbroken for so many talented young men.....but I know God will open doors for all of you! My son was too turned down yesterday. Godspeed!
I wish your dd all the best. It's heartbreaking to read about these amazing kids being turned down. These kids are the total package - intellect, athleticism, leadership and selfless in their desire to give back and serve. This is such a hard, emotional process.
I'm thinking about transferring to Ohio State for NROTC or Michigan where I would be in State. Does anyone have any experience with these two units?
Both are great units and fairly large in size. Can't go wrong with either one.
So sorry to hear!
