With apologies to USNAp, I have moved a post of his from another thread in order to tack that thread for everyone's ease in finding it.

His questions were as follows:

thanks for the effort couple of questions

1) my son is applying to USNA. We certainly did not submit enough forms to USNA to get a DoDMERB exam but it came in the mail anyway and a NROTC recruiter called and we had said we applied to NROTC. We did not but I guess when you fill out a USNA preliminary application that is accepted you are automatically enrolled in NROTC. The exams are scheduled week after next. On the forms I do not see anything regarding where you are applying. How does Concorde know where the results should be sent?

2) my son is in a very physically demanding summer crew program 6 days a week. His last practice before his exam is Sat am. His physical is Mon am. Is this enough time so the urine poteins will not be elevated?

Regards

USNAp - All Concorde results are sent to DoDMERB regardless of what programs an applicant has sought admission. Concorde Inc is contracted to DoDMERB for medical and optomentric services as well as additional tests and consultations (remedials).

Each individual has different metabolic rates. "It" may not be enough, but if a repeat is required, we usually recommend very limited activity at least 3 days prior to the tests.

If you want more specifics, pls email me. I won't be connected until late tomorrow night due to travel o the east coast.:thumb:

(continued) "If you want more specifics, pls email me. I won't be connected until late tomorrow night due to travel to the east coast." But I'll have my BlackBerry "on" (except in flight:smile:) and depending on the question and urgency, I can ask one of my colleagues to research and provide you a response while I'm traveling

Thanks Larry no urgency we have plenty of time for a retest. We'll just see what happens with the first test. I'll have him drink plenty of water.

and the end of the story

Just to close the loop on this. My son stopped his exercising about 48 hours to the hour before his exam. Sat to Mon am. He drank water like a fish. His main concern on Monday was that his urine was just water, he thought they would think he was a freak. He passed the test fine. So we are good to go. I would mention that his doc told him he has a very high metabolism.

I would note a kid on his team did not abstain from physical activity for 48 hours before the test and failed it because of elevated protein levels. He retook it and was admitted to USNA.

Best to follow instructions and keep the knucklehead under wraps for 48 hours and try again if it does not work.

I don't know if I would characterize it this way..."Best to follow instructions and keep the knucklehead under wraps for 48 hours and try again if it does not work."....But clearly, it worked in the case of USNAp's son:shake::shake::shake: Good deal!
