Holy cow! Two weeks from today we turn him over to the United States Naval Academy. After all the tests, retests, applications. essays, interviews, nomination steps, and yes prayers, it seems a bit surreal that it is just about here.
DS got an email from the rowing coach inviting him to try out for the rowing team. That really excited him.
Exit one roller coaster step on the next.

WOW

I think everyone received an email from Rowing. Maybe I'm wrong. DS received one as well from Bagnall.

Rowing recruits and contacts a lot of kids. Especially big guys and small guys. They have two teams and look for guys to fit both teams. The season will start off with 50-100 Plebes and they dwindle. Some realize it's not for them, others find something else they like better, some realize the time commitment is massive and others realize they aren't good at it. For those who stick it out, it's a great program that is very tight knit and has very supportive Alumni. Program has a lot of great history. Give it a shot! Never know what will happen.

I think it went out to people who fit the height and weights they were looking for and had a history of athletics.

DS is looking forward to trying it and seeing if they'll keep him. He's never rowed, but he like the idea.
