Asking for a friend (really). No doubt I was asked, as a mother of a T1D, if there was any chance for a cadet, who has been recently diagnosed with T1D to remain at USAFA. Other than having a T1D who is a younger sibling to a cadet, I have no idea what the answer is, except everything that I have ever read on the subject says no. I know that a 2018 cadet was disenrolled when she found out that she had TID during a blood test for classwork. Are there any exceptions?

I offer the assitance of the USAFA medical team or me, whichever fits the situation :wiggle:

Answering to your freind (Really). Medical is NOT a third hand issue. Two options and two options ONLY:

1. If the person is already a Cadet, then the USAFA Medical Team has/will already explain everything they need to know to the cadet.

2. If the person is an applicant and NOT a cadet at USAFA already, the person...THE APPLICANT...NOT...a Friend (really) or Mother..should stay out of it. The appllicant can contact me directly for assistance; Lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; provide complete name and 4 SSN; and tell me what the acutal issue is from the applicant's perspective

I was correct. The USAFA medical team is aware, as is the cadet. Those are THE folks that count :wiggle:
